Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Legal Inquiry Scribe with a passion for legal technology to join our remote team. This full-time position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a work-from-home environment and possess exceptional transcription and data entry skills. As a Legal Inquiry Scribe, you will play a crucial role in processing legal inquiries, documenting client communications, and maintaining accurate records within our advanced legal tech platforms. You will support our legal and client success teams by ensuring all information is accurately captured and readily accessible, contributing directly to the efficiency and effectiveness of legal service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe and document legal inquiries, client communications, and case notes from various sources (audio, video, written).
- Input and update data within Clio's practice management software and other integrated legal tech platforms.
- Perform preliminary research to ensure completeness and accuracy of documented information.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adherence to legal and company data security protocols.
- Collaborate with legal support and client success teams to clarify information and ensure seamless workflow.
- Identify and flag potential discrepancies or areas requiring further investigation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation processes and use of legal technology tools.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in legal terminology and understanding of legal processes.
- Exceptional typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60 WPM).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume environments.
- Proficient in using office productivity software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).
- Basic familiarity with legal technology platforms or eagerness to learn quickly.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in a legal support role (paralegal, legal assistant, legal secretary).
- Experience with cloud-based legal practice management software, ideally Clio.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Legal Studies, Communications, English).
- Certification in transcription or legal office administration.
