Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance professional for a stable, full-time role focused on general repair at our Davenport, Iowa facility. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our premises by performing routine maintenance, preventative care, and timely repairs. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess a solid understanding of general building maintenance practices. This is an on-site role, vital to maintaining the integrity and functionality of our operational hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on facilities equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components.
- Conduct general repairs such as patching walls, painting, fixing doors, replacing light fixtures, and minor carpentry.
- Respond to and troubleshoot maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with groundskeeping and external building maintenance as needed.
- Collaborate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in general facilities maintenance or a related trade.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Vocational training or certification in a skilled trade (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
- Prior experience in a logistics or industrial facility setting.
