Job Description

Are you a friendly, energetic, and reliable individual looking for casual weekend work in a dynamic environment? Oak View Group is seeking dedicated Event Ushers to join our team at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa. This role is perfect for those who thrive in fast-paced settings, enjoy interacting with people, and have a passion for creating positive experiences for event-goers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all guests attending various events, from hockey games to concerts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Guide guests to their seats and assist with seating arrangements.
  • Monitor assigned sections for potential issues, safety hazards, or disruptive behavior.
  • Provide information regarding event schedules, venue facilities, and local amenities.
  • Assist guests with special needs or accessibility requirements.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and resolve minor complaints professionally.
  • Enforce venue policies and procedures to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
  • Collaborate with security, medical, and other venue staff as needed.
  • Assist with pre-event setup and post-event breakdown as required.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced or challenging situations.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Punctuality and reliability, especially for weekend shifts.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service, hospitality, or event-based role.
  • Knowledge of stadium operations or event protocols.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is an asset.
