Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team, responsible for maintaining the immaculate condition of our facilities at Anfield. This role is crucial in ensuring that our pitches, training grounds, and surrounding landscapes meet the highest professional standards, providing an optimal environment for our football operations and an appealing aesthetic for our visitors. The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with a passion for outdoor work and a commitment to precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, strimming, edging, and leaf blowing.
- Undertake planting, pruning, weeding, and watering of flowerbeds, shrubberies, and other landscaped areas.
- Operate and maintain a range of grounds care equipment safely and efficiently, including mowers, trimmers, and utility vehicles.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance on ground care equipment and site fixtures.
- Assist with pitch marking and preparation for training sessions and matches as required.
- Ensure all areas are kept clean, tidy, and free from litter and debris.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Report any damage, defects, or hazards observed on the grounds.
- Support other grounds team members with various ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of horticultural practices and plant care.
- Experience operating grounds maintenance equipment (e.g., mowers, strimmers).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical fitness to handle the demands of the role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a similar role.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Horticulture or Sports Turf Management.
- Full UK driving license.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices relating to grounds maintenance.
