Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Virtual IT Asset Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This is an entry-level, remote position ideal for individuals eager to start their career in IT logistics and asset management. You will play a crucial role in managing the lifecycle of IT assets, ensuring accurate tracking, inventory management, and compliance with company policies. This role requires strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work independently in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware and software assets throughout their lifecycle, from procurement to disposal.
- Process and track IT asset requests, deployments, returns, and transfers.
- Coordinate with various internal departments (IT, Procurement, Finance) and external vendors to ensure timely asset provisioning and support.
- Assist in the development and implementation of asset management policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of IT asset data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Generate reports on asset utilization, status, and compliance for management review.
- Support the onboarding and offboarding processes by ensuring IT assets are properly allocated and retrieved.
- Provide administrative support to the IT Asset Management team as needed.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote work environment.
- Basic understanding of IT hardware and software components.
- Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to task completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) software or inventory systems.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework principles.
- Previous experience in a logistics, supply chain, or administrative role.
- Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration tools.
