Job Description

You will operate specialized vehicles, ensuring timely and compassionate service while adhering to all safety regulations and promoting a positive experience for every passenger.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate paratransit vehicles, including vans and small buses, in varying weather and traffic conditions.
  • Assist passengers, including those using wheelchairs or other mobility aids, with boarding, securing, and exiting the vehicle.
  • Adhere to strict schedules and routes, ensuring timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating patience, empathy, and respect for all passengers.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, passengers, and other team members regarding schedules, delays, and passenger needs.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of passenger manifests, mileage, and vehicle maintenance issues.
  • Undergo and successfully complete all required training programs related to paratransit operations, safety, and sensitivity.
  • Respond to passenger inquiries and provide assistance as needed, ensuring a comfortable and secure journey.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and traffic laws.

Required Skills

  • Valid Florida Driver's License (Class E or higher with a clean driving record).
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to schedules and routes.
  • Physical ability to assist passengers with mobility challenges, including lifting and securing wheelchairs.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to perform pre-trip vehicle inspections.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or seniors.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
