Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and vigilant Event Security personnel to join our team in Reading, Berkshire. This vital role involves maintaining a safe and secure environment for attendees, staff, and performers at various events across the region, including concerts, sporting events, festivals, and corporate gatherings. The ideal candidate will possess excellent observational skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a proactive approach to security. You will be instrumental in ensuring smooth event operations and responding effectively to any security incidents or concerns. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough bag and personal searches in accordance with event security protocols.
- Monitor designated areas for suspicious activity, unauthorized access, or potential hazards.
- Manage crowd flow and direct attendees safely and efficiently.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, disturbances, and medical emergencies.
- Enforce event rules and regulations, ensuring a positive and safe experience for all participants.
- Provide clear and concise communication to event attendees and colleagues.
- Collaborate with event organizers, emergency services, and fellow security personnel.
- Complete incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform access control duties, verifying credentials and managing entry/exit points.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a security or customer service role, preferably within an event setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Physical fitness to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Proficiency in basic first aid is desirable.
- A professional and approachable demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor license.
- Current First Aid at Work qualification.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced event environment.
- Knowledge of relevant security legislation and best practices.
