Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and adaptable General Utility Hand to join our dynamic warehouse team in Wichita. In this essential role, you will provide comprehensive support across various warehouse functions, ensuring smooth operations, cleanliness, and efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are reliable, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to a fast-paced environment. No prior experience is required, as we provide comprehensive training for all aspects of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleanup and maintenance tasks throughout the warehouse, including sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
- Assist with the organization and proper storage of inventory and materials.
- Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic equipment (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks).
- Support shipping and receiving operations by preparing items for dispatch or receiving incoming goods.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
- Assist other warehouse personnel as needed with various tasks to ensure operational flow.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment under supervision, if required and after proper training.
- Inspect work areas for potential hazards and report issues promptly.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to completing tasks accurately.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills to understand instructions and report issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or general labor role is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with basic warehouse safety procedures.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
