Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Fencing Installer Laborer to join our team in Markham, Ontario. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals eager to learn the trade and contribute to building high-quality fences for rural and residential clients. You will work alongside experienced professionals, assisting with all aspects of fence installation, from site preparation to final construction. This role requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment at the job site.
- Prepare job sites by clearing brush, digging post holes, and setting posts.
- Measure, cut, and assemble fencing materials according to specifications.
- Install various types of fences including wood, chain link, vinyl, and ornamental iron.
- Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools are properly stored and maintained.
- Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to complete projects on schedule.
- Assist with other general labor tasks as required on site.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), digging, and standing for long periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Basic understanding of construction safety practices.
- Reliable transportation to and from our yard in Markham.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or a related field.
- Experience with power tools (e.g., drills, saws, post-hole diggers).
- Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or site plans.
