Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shopify Social Media Helper to join our digital marketing team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about e-commerce, social media, and online brand building. You will be instrumental in supporting our social media strategy, primarily focusing on content posting, scheduling, and community engagement across various platforms for our online brands managed through Shopify. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work both from our Gatineau office and remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in scheduling and publishing social media content across platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, X) in line with content calendars.
- Monitor social media channels for trends, comments, and messages, escalating as necessary.
- Engage with our online community by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and brand-appropriate manner.
- Support the creation of engaging captions, hashtags, and basic visual elements for social posts.
- Collaborate with the e-commerce and marketing teams to ensure social media content aligns with Shopify product launches, promotions, and campaigns.
- Track and report on social media performance metrics under guidance from senior team members.
- Conduct competitive analysis and research on social media best practices and emerging trends.
- Maintain an organized library of social media assets and content.
- Assist with basic Shopify platform tasks related to product content or promotions that link to social media efforts.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, X).
- Basic understanding of Shopify platform functionality.
- Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with social media scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) or eagerness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or entry-level experience in social media, marketing, or e-commerce.
- Basic graphic design skills using tools like Canva or Adobe Express.
- Understanding of social media analytics and reporting.
