Job Description

The Auto Transport Specialist will operate multi-car carrier equipment to pick up and deliver a variety of vehicles, ensuring all transport operations comply with federal, state, and company regulations. You will be responsible for pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing vehicles, maintaining logs, and providing exceptional customer service at pick-up and delivery points. This role demands attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a multi-car transport carrier in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, documenting any defects.
  • Secure vehicles properly on the carrier to prevent damage during transit.
  • Plan routes efficiently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and all required paperwork.
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic laws.
  • Perform minor roadside adjustments and maintenance as needed.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections at pick-up and delivery, noting any existing damage.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience operating multi-car carriers.
  • Proficient knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle securing best practices.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading vehicles and equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with various vehicle types (sedans, SUVs, trucks, luxury cars).
  • Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and route optimization software.
  • Certification in vehicle loading and securement.
  • Proven track record of safe driving and on-time deliveries.
