Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all provided training programs to master medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to the role.
- Learn to accurately and thoroughly document patient encounters, medical histories, physical exams, diagnostic tests, treatment plans, and discharge instructions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Familiarize yourself with various medical specialties and physician documentation preferences.
- Develop proficiency in navigating and utilizing the EHR system effectively and efficiently.
- Understand and adhere to all HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with supervising physicians and trainers, seeking clarification when needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless information flow and patient care coordination.
- Continuously seek opportunities for self-improvement and professional growth in medical documentation.
- Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments by gathering relevant information.
- Complete other administrative tasks as assigned to support clinical operations.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong active listening skills and the ability to interpret spoken information accurately.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Proficiency in typing with a minimum speed of 60 WPM.
- Comfortable with technology and learning new software applications.
- Strong commitment to patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
- Reliable internet connection and a dedicated quiet workspace for remote work.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow within the healthcare field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework, particularly in science or health-related fields.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or office setting (e.g., administrative assistant, receptionist).
- Familiarity with medical terminology (a plus, but not required – training provided).
- Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
