Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and energetic Pallet Wrapping & Staging Operative to join our dynamic team in Durham City. This active role requires immediate availability to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of goods within our busy warehouse. As an Operative, you will be responsible for securely wrapping pallets and staging them correctly for dispatch, playing a crucial part in our supply chain operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate pallet wrapping machinery to ensure goods are securely prepared for transit.
  • Perform manual pallet wrapping for irregular or oversized items when necessary.
  • Accurately stage wrapped pallets in designated areas within the warehouse, following strict layout and safety guidelines.
  • Conduct quality checks on wrapped pallets to ensure stability, proper labeling, and readiness for dispatch.
  • Adhere strictly to all company health and safety procedures and regulations.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties, including maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels and completing paperwork.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar operational role.
  • Experience operating pallet wrapping machines or using manual wrapping techniques.
  • Valid MHE (Material Handling Equipment) license (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach Truck) is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
