Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and physically active individual to join our team as a Restaurant Ice Machine Restocker. This essential role ensures our busy restaurant operations run smoothly by maintaining a constant supply of ice. You will be responsible for hauling large quantities of ice, operating and cleaning ice machines, and managing ice inventory. This is a hands-on position requiring a strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Regularly monitor ice levels in all restaurant ice machines and storage bins.
- Efficiently haul and transport large bags or buckets of ice from storage to various service areas and ice machines.
- Safely load ice into machines, ensuring proper sanitation and avoiding contamination.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of ice machines according to health and safety standards.
- Report any malfunctions or repair needs for ice machines promptly to management.
- Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries of ice if external suppliers are used.
- Maintain a clean and organised ice storage area.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Support other kitchen or front-of-house tasks as needed during slower periods.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 25kg/55lbs) frequently throughout a shift.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance for active, repetitive tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Attention to detail regarding cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic understanding of food safety principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physical role within a restaurant, warehouse, or similar environment.
- Familiarity with operating and cleaning commercial kitchen equipment.
- Food hygiene certificate (e.g., Level 1 or 2 Food Safety).
