Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Hedging Manager to join our dynamic Treasury team in Swansea. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring hedging strategies to mitigate financial risks across various portfolios, including interest rate, foreign exchange, and commodity exposures. You will work closely with senior management, traders, and risk teams to ensure our hedging activities align with the Group’s overall risk appetite and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute effective hedging strategies for various financial risks (interest rate, FX, commodity).
- Monitor market conditions, financial instruments, and regulatory changes to identify hedging opportunities and risks.
- Conduct quantitative analysis and stress testing of hedging portfolios.
- Collaborate with front office, risk management, and back office teams to ensure seamless execution and reporting.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on hedging performance, risk exposures, and strategy effectiveness for senior stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards related to hedging activities.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of hedging frameworks, models, and systems.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a hedging or treasury risk management role within financial services.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, derivatives, and risk management principles.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, quantitative analysis, and relevant software (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or CFA/FRM designation.
- Experience with specific treasury systems or risk analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of IFRS 9 hedge accounting principles.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
