Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and reliable Night Porter to join our dedicated team at Hilton Aberdeen TECA. This vital role ensures the smooth operation and security of our hotel during the quiet overnight hours. The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for guests during the night, handling enquiries, assisting with security, and preparing the hotel for the following day. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular security checks and patrols of the hotel premises, ensuring guest safety and property security.
  • Handle late check-ins and early check-outs efficiently, processing payments and key distribution accurately.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to all guest requests and inquiries, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Monitor the hotel's CCTV and fire alarm systems, responding to any alerts or incidents according to protocol.
  • Prepare meeting rooms and public areas for the following day's activities, including setting up equipment or furniture.
  • Assist with luggage handling and parking arrangements for guests as required.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and presentation of the lobby and common areas throughout the night.
  • Report any maintenance issues, security incidents, or unusual occurrences to the appropriate department.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as logging events, preparing reports, and managing deliveries.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., for reservations systems, email)
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Physical capability to perform patrols and lift moderate weights

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, or security role
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures, particularly fire safety
  • First Aid certification
  • A valid driving license
