Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Environmental Engineer to join our dynamic team in Waterloo, Ontario. You will contribute to projects that safeguard natural resources, manage environmental risks, and help our clients meet regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental site assessments (Phase I, II, and III) and develop remediation strategies.
- Perform environmental impact assessments and prepare associated reports.
- Design and implement solutions for water and wastewater treatment, air quality control, and waste management.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including geologists, hydrogeologists, and other engineers.
- Manage project tasks, budgets, and schedules to ensure successful project delivery.
- Participate in fieldwork, including site investigations, sampling, and data collection.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to the professional development of the team.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with an environmental focus, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting or a related industry.
- Proficiency in environmental regulations and standards (e.g., Provincial Environmental Protection Act, Canadian Environmental Protection Act).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with GIS software and environmental modeling tools.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario).
- Experience with environmental management systems (EMS) implementation.
- Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting and client relations.
- Familiarity with various environmental assessment methodologies and reporting standards.
- Experience in complex remediation technologies and strategies.
