Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Recycling Plant Quality Sorter to join our team in Carson City immediately. This entry-level position is vital to our operations, ensuring that recyclable materials are accurately identified, sorted, and processed according to quality standards. You will be responsible for manually sorting various materials on a conveyor belt, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and contributing to our overall recycling goals. Full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided, and comprehensive training will be given to ensure your success and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually sort recyclable materials (e.g., plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, metals) from a conveyor belt.
- Identify and remove contaminants or non-recyclable items from the material stream.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and use provided PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the recycling plant.
- Assist with other general labor tasks as needed to support plant operations.
- Monitor material flow and report any equipment malfunctions or issues to supervisors.
- Ensure sorted materials meet quality specifications for further processing.
Required Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail for identifying different material types.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand, lift (up to 50 lbs), bend, and twist for extended periods.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
- Basic communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or recycling plant environment.
