Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Small Surface Painter to join our property services team in Kitchener. This role focuses primarily on performing touch-up painting and maintenance on fences and doors for residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of painting techniques, and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes. You will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing paints, applying coatings, and ensuring clean and precise work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and masking areas as needed.
- Perform precise touch-up painting on fences, doors, trim, and other small surfaces.
- Mix and match paint colors to existing surfaces to ensure seamless integration.
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and other appropriate tools.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality, ensuring smooth, even, and consistent coats.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper disposal of waste materials.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project status and material needs.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in painting, particularly with small surface touch-ups.
- Proficiency in surface preparation techniques (cleaning, sanding, masking).
- Strong color matching and mixing abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in application.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of various paint types and their applications.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry for minor repairs prior to painting.
- Experience with various painting tools and equipment.
- First Aid and WHMIS certification.
