Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and self-motivated Traffic Warden / Control Officer to join our team in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing traffic regulations, managing parking, and assisting with public inquiries, all while upholding the highest standards of professionalism. Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol designated areas to enforce parking and traffic bylaws and regulations.
  • Issue parking tickets and warnings accurately and efficiently.
  • Respond to public inquiries and complaints regarding traffic and parking.
  • Assist with traffic control during special events or incidents as required.
  • Provide clear and concise information to the public regarding local bylaws.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities and incidents.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and municipal services when necessary.
  • Ensure safety and order on public roads and parking areas.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications.
  • Physical ability to patrol on foot for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Clear criminal record check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or bylaw enforcement.
  • Knowledge of municipal bylaws and traffic regulations.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confrontational situations professionally.
