Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Summer Camp Nurse to join our team for the upcoming camp season. This is a unique opportunity to provide essential healthcare services in an engaging outdoor environment, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of campers and staff. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, adaptable Registered Nurse committed to fostering a safe and healthy camp experience. Seasonal housing and meals are included, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the vibrant camp community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive first aid and emergency care to campers and staff.
  • Administer prescribed medications accurately and maintain detailed records.
  • Assess and treat minor illnesses and injuries, referring to local physicians as needed.
  • Manage and maintain health center supplies and equipment.
  • Implement and enforce camp health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding camper health status.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all campers and staff.
  • Collaborate with camp directors and staff to promote a healthy camp environment.
  • Participate in staff training and orientation sessions.

Required Skills

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to maintain composure in emergency situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • At least one year of experience in pediatric, school, or camp nursing.
  • Knowledge of American Camp Association (ACA) health and safety standards.
  • Experience in an outdoor or camp setting.
