Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a career in construction but don’t have a CSCS card? No problem! Morgan Sindall Construction is actively seeking motivated and enthusiastic Construction Labourers to join our growing team in Basildon. We understand that getting started can be tough, which is why we’re offering to cover the cost of your CSCS card and provide all the necessary training. This is an incredible opportunity for individuals who are reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn the ropes of the construction industry. You’ll be an integral part of our site teams, assisting skilled tradespeople and ensuring our projects run smoothly and safely. No prior experience is necessary – just a can-do attitude and a willingness to get stuck in!
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting skilled tradespersons (e.g., bricklayers, carpenters, electricians) with their tasks.
- Loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment on site.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, including waste removal and site tidiness.
- Operating basic hand and power tools under supervision.
- Performing general manual labour tasks as required by the site manager.
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations and site procedures.
- Digging trenches, moving earth, and preparing ground surfaces.
- Supporting the setup and dismantling of site facilities.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good physical fitness and stamina for manual tasks.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Commitment to health and safety on site.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some prior experience in a labour-intensive role (e.g., warehousing, factory work).
- Basic understanding of construction site environments.
- Full UK driving license.
