Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Operating Room / Theatre Nurses to join our surgical team at Garki Hospital Abuja. This is an incredible opportunity for experienced nurses looking for a significant career move, with full relocation support and visa sponsorship provided for eligible international candidates. You will be a crucial part of our surgical unit, ensuring the highest standards of patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room with all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating needs, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitor patient vital signs and overall condition throughout the surgical process.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all patient care, procedures, and relevant information.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care and education to patients and their families.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training initiatives.
Required Skills
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in your home country (eligibility for NGN registration required).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Operating Room/Theatre Nurse.
- Proficiency in surgical assisting, sterile technique, and patient monitoring.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Specialty certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR or equivalent).
- Experience with a variety of surgical specialties (e.g., general, orthopaedic, neuro, cardiac).
- Experience working in a multicultural healthcare setting.
