Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented E-commerce Platform Migration Assistant to join our remote team. This is a contract position designed for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in e-commerce platform transitions. You will play a crucial role in supporting the migration of merchant data, products, and content between various e-commerce platforms, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition for our clients. This role is 100% remote, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere within Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the migration of product data, customer information, and order history from existing e-commerce platforms to new Shopify stores.
- Perform data entry and verification tasks to ensure accuracy and completeness of migrated information.
- Support the setup and configuration of new e-commerce store settings, including shipping, payment gateways, and theme customization.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and testing on migrated data and store functionalities to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Document migration processes, common issues, and solutions to contribute to knowledge base articles.
- Communicate effectively with project managers and technical teams regarding migration progress and potential challenges.
- Provide administrative support for various e-commerce projects as needed.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento).
- Proficiency in data entry and spreadsheet software (e.g., Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Basic problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (even informal) with any e-commerce platform.
- Familiarity with project management tools.
- A degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS is a plus.
