Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Plumbers Mate to join our skilled team in Woking. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to start or advance their career in plumbing. As a Plumbers Mate, you will work closely with qualified plumbers, assisting them with a variety of tasks on commercial and residential projects. Your role will be crucial in ensuring our plumbing operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the high standards of service Mitie is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified plumbers with installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
- Prepare work areas, ensuring they are safe and clean before, during, and after tasks.
- Carry and organise tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
- Provide support during pipe fitting, soldering, and other plumbing procedures.
- Help with basic tasks such as cutting, threading, and joining pipes.
- Clean up work sites, dispose of waste materials, and ensure proper storage of tools.
- Follow health and safety guidelines and company procedures diligently.
- Learn and develop new plumbing skills under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of tools and equipment used in trade work.
- Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
- Reliable and punctual with good time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a trade assistant or similar role.
- CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant vocational training or certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 1 in Plumbing).
