Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant General Manager to lead our vibrant team in Exeter. This pivotal role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record in restaurant management, exceptional operational skills, and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. As General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant’s operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, service, and profitability. For eligible international candidates, a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) will be provided to facilitate the visa application process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service, high food standards, and efficient resource allocation.
- Manage financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue growth initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Recruit, train, and develop staff, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to company standards.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally and effectively.
- Manage inventory, supplier relationships, and stock control.
- Drive local marketing initiatives to increase brand visibility and footfall.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a General Manager role within a full-service restaurant environment.
- Demonstrable leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with P&L management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for food, hospitality, and customer service.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in restaurant management software and POS systems.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience managing a restaurant with high volume and diverse offerings.
- Formal hospitality management qualifications or relevant certifications.
- Experience with UK employment law and HR practices.
- Proven ability to drive sales and control costs effectively.
