Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Chaperone to join our team, providing essential support and supervision for our students during various school activities, trips, and events. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive experience of our students, both on and off campus. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a nurturing approach, and a strong commitment to safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise students during school trips, extracurricular activities, and residential stays, ensuring their safety and adherence to school rules.
- Act as a responsible adult presence, offering guidance, support, and a point of contact for students.
- Manage student welfare, including first aid administration for minor injuries (training provided if necessary) and emotional support.
- Maintain clear communication with school staff, parents, and external partners as required.
- Assist with logistics during events, such as registration, transportation, and attendance monitoring.
- Promote a positive and inclusive environment, encouraging good behaviour and respectful interactions among students.
- Complete necessary paperwork and incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with young people.
- Demonstrable sense of responsibility and reliability.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in various situations.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of safeguarding principles.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children or young people (e.g., in schools, youth groups, or childcare).
- Current First Aid certification.
- Clean UK Driving License and access to a vehicle (desirable for some roles).
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
