Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic team in Oxford. This role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all road safety regulations. You will be a crucial part of our supply chain operations, representing DHL with professionalism and commitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including trailers, across assigned routes.
- Conduct pre- and post-vehicle checks, reporting any defects promptly.
- Ensure timely and secure delivery of goods to various customer locations.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Adhere to all tachograph regulations, working time directives, and road safety legislation.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, ensuring cargo is secured.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Represent DHL professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category CE) driving license.
- Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) card.
- Valid Digital Tachograph card.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional HGV Class 1 driving experience.
- Excellent knowledge of UK road networks and traffic regulations.
- Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various types of trailers (e.g., curtainsiders, box trailers).
- Clean driving record (no more than 3 points).
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle checks.
