Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Robotics Engineer to join our innovative team in Canterbury. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying advanced robotic systems that enhance the efficiency and capability of our automated warehouses. This role involves working across the full lifecycle of robotics projects, from conceptualization and simulation to implementation and optimization of robotic cells and mobile robots. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test software for robotic systems, including motion planning, perception, and control.
- Integrate robotic hardware with software systems, ensuring seamless operation.
- Conduct simulations and perform real-world testing to validate robotic solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software) to deliver integrated systems.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex robotic issues in a production environment.
- Contribute to system architecture and design discussions.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics and automation.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS).
- Solid understanding of robotics kinematics, dynamics, and control theory.
- Familiarity with robotic manipulators (e.g., KUKA, ABB, Fanuc) or mobile robotics platforms.
- Experience with sensors commonly used in robotics (LIDAR, cameras, IMUs).
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with machine learning techniques for perception or control.
- Knowledge of industrial automation standards and safety protocols.
- Experience with cloud robotics platforms or distributed systems.
- Familiarity with simulation tools like Gazebo or V-REP.
