Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Midwives to join our dynamic maternity team in Harrogate. This is an excellent opportunity for international midwives seeking to relocate to the UK, as we offer comprehensive visa sponsorship and accommodation support to eligible candidates. You will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based midwifery care to women and their families throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic midwifery care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for women and their families.
  • Manage a caseload of women, offering continuity of care where possible.
  • Conduct antenatal clinics, parenting education classes, and postnatal home visits.
  • Support women during labour and birth, ensuring a safe and positive experience.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately according to Trust policy.
  • Document all care meticulously and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.
  • Participate in clinical governance activities and contribute to service improvement.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for junior staff and students.

Required Skills

  • Registered Midwife with current NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration or eligibility to register.
  • Minimum of 1 year post-registration experience in a maternity setting.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of current midwifery practices and clinical guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient-centred approach to care.
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NIPE (Newborn and Infant Physical Examination) qualification.
  • Experience in a variety of maternity settings (e.g., community, birth centre, labour ward).
  • Teaching and assessment qualification.
  • Evidence of leadership potential or experience.
