Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Urgent Care Porters to join our dynamic team. This is a vital role within our urgent care settings, ensuring the smooth and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and medical supplies. You will be instrumental in supporting our clinical staff and maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. We are looking for individuals who can start promptly and contribute immediately to our mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport patients safely and comfortably between wards, departments, and other areas of the hospital, including those in wheelchairs, on trolleys, or walking.
  • Move medical equipment, laboratory samples, patient records, and other items efficiently and securely.
  • Assist clinical staff with moving and handling patients as required, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of transport equipment, reporting any faults or damage.
  • Provide a reassuring and courteous presence to patients and visitors.
  • Respond promptly to requests and prioritising tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures, including infection control.

  • Good physical fitness and ability to undertake manual handling tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service environment.
  • Basic First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of hospital layouts and procedures.
