Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented Hotel Porter to join our prestigious team at The Gainsborough Bath Spa. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to embark on a professional career in tourism and hospitality. As a Hotel Porter, you will be the first point of contact for many of our guests, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and seamless experience from arrival to departure. You will handle luggage, assist with guest inquiries, maintain the lobby’s pristine appearance, and provide general support to ensure guest comfort and satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival and assist with luggage handling, ensuring efficient and careful transport to their rooms.
- Assist guests with general inquiries, providing information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions in Bath.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the hotel lobby, entrance areas, and bell desk.
- Support the Front Desk and Concierge teams with various tasks, including delivering messages, packages, and amenities to guest rooms.
- Ensure guests' vehicles are parked and retrieved safely if valet services are required (training provided).
- Assist with setting up meeting rooms or special events as needed.
- Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
- Anticipate guest needs and proactively offer assistance to enhance their stay.
- Collaborate effectively with all hotel departments to ensure a smooth and enjoyable guest experience.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a polite and professional demeanor.
- A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry luggage and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel or customer service environment is a plus, but not essential.
- A valid UK driving license is preferred for assisting with valet parking.
- Familiarity with the Bath area and its attractions.
- Proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
