Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and empathetic Bilingual Telephonic Interpreters to join our remote team. This crucial role involves facilitating communication between English speakers and individuals who speak another language, primarily over the phone. You will provide accurate, complete, and culturally sensitive interpretation in a variety of settings, including medical, legal, and business contexts. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a significant impact from the comfort of your home.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and complete interpretation of conversations between two or more parties via telephone, maintaining the tone and nuance of the original message.
- Adhere to interpreter ethics and standards, including confidentiality, impartiality, and accuracy.
- Manage call flow and ensure all parties understand the conversation clearly.
- Maintain professional conduct and uphold the company's commitment to quality service.
- Continuously improve linguistic and interpreting skills through self-study and professional development.
- Document call details accurately as required by company protocols.
Required Skills
- Fluency in English and at least one other language (bilingual essential).
- Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Ability to remain neutral and objective.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and comfortable with telephone systems.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, secure home office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in telephonic interpreting or a related field.
- Certification in medical or legal interpretation.
- Knowledge of medical or legal terminology.
