Job Description
Ricardo Media is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented ‘Foodies’ to join our remote team as Recipe Testers & Writers. This is a unique opportunity for individuals who possess a strong passion for cooking, an keen eye for detail, and excellent written communication skills. In this role, you will be responsible for meticulously testing new and existing recipes for accuracy, clarity, and deliciousness, providing constructive feedback, and assisting in the refinement of recipe instructions and accompanying written content. This 100% remote position offers flexibility and the chance to contribute to a beloved Canadian food brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute recipe testing according to provided guidelines, ensuring accuracy of ingredients, measurements, and cooking instructions.
- Provide detailed written feedback on recipe outcomes, including taste, texture, appearance, preparation time, and ease of following.
- Identify and suggest improvements for recipe clarity, ingredient sourcing, and overall user experience.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to refine and optimize recipes based on testing results.
- Assist in writing and editing engaging, clear, and concise recipe introductions, tips, and other related culinary content.
- Document cooking processes and results with clear notes and occasional photographs.
- Stay updated on current food trends, dietary preferences, and cooking techniques.
Required Skills
- Proven passion and experience in home cooking and baking.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Strong written communication skills in English, with a knack for clear and concise expression.
- Ability to provide constructive and objective feedback.
- Basic proficiency with word processing software (e.g., Google Docs, Microsoft Word).
- Reliable access to a well-equipped kitchen and stable internet connection.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in recipe development, food blogging, or culinary writing.
- Familiarity with the Ricardo Media brand and its culinary style.
- Basic photography skills for documenting recipe tests.
- Ability to work with specific dietary requirements or ingredient substitutions.
- Fluency in French (an asset but not required).
