Are you a travel enthusiast with a knack for planning unforgettable adventures? Expedia Group is seeking a highly organized and creative Virtual Travel Itinerary Planner to join our dynamic remote team. In this 100% remote role, you will be responsible for designing bespoke travel itineraries tailored to our clients’ unique preferences, budgets, and travel styles. You will utilize your extensive travel knowledge, research skills, and attention to detail to create seamless and enriching travel experiences, from luxurious escapes to adventurous explorations. Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients remotely to understand their travel aspirations, preferences, and budgetary requirements.
- Conduct thorough research on destinations, accommodations, activities, transportation, and local experiences.
- Design comprehensive and personalized travel itineraries, including detailed daily plans, booking recommendations, and logistical information.
- Present itinerary proposals to clients, making revisions based on their feedback to ensure complete satisfaction.
- Manage bookings and reservations for flights, hotels, tours, cruises, and ground transportation using various travel platforms.
- Provide expert advice on travel insurance, visa requirements, health precautions, and local customs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel trends, industry changes, and popular destinations.
- Utilize CRM and travel planning software to manage client information and itinerary details efficiently.
- Offer exceptional customer service throughout the planning process and post-travel follow-up.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in travel planning, either professionally or extensively in personal capacity.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong research and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in using online travel booking platforms and research tools.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client projects simultaneously.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering outstanding service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field.
- Certification from a recognized travel planning organization (e.g., CTA, CTC).
- Experience with CRM software and travel management systems.
- Multilingual abilities, especially in commonly traveled languages.
- Extensive personal travel experience to a wide range of international destinations.
