Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career in security but have no prior experience? Allied Universal is offering an incredible opportunity to become a Trainee Security Officer in Joliet, IL. We believe in investing in our talent, which is why we are funding your Security Industry Association (SIA) license. This role is perfect for individuals who are reliable, possess strong communication skills, and are eager to learn and grow within a supportive environment. No experience is required – just a commitment to professionalism and a desire to protect and serve. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Undergo comprehensive training to obtain your SIA license (funded by Allied Universal)
- Learn and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and security protocols
- Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
- Patrol industrial and commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients and employees
- Respond to emergencies and alarms as required
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
- Observe and report suspicious activities and persons
- Control access to buildings and direct visitors
Required Skills
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Commitment to professionalism and integrity
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience
- Basic computer literacy
- First Aid/CPR certification (training can be provided)
