Job Description

Starbucks is looking for an enthusiastic and eager Trainee Barista / Coffee Shop Assistant to join our team in the lively South Beach area of Miami Beach. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for individuals with no prior experience in coffee making, offering comprehensive training and a chance to grow within a globally recognized brand. You will play a crucial role in delivering excellent customer service, preparing quality beverages, and maintaining a welcoming store environment during daytime hours. Key Responsibilities
- Learn and master the art of coffee preparation, including espresso shots, milk steaming, and drink assembly following Starbucks recipes and standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and resolving inquiries politely.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and handle cash and card transactions efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, seating areas, and restrooms throughout your shift.
- Assist with stocking shelves, rotating inventory, and preparing food items as needed.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe environment for both customers and partners.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive atmosphere.
- Ensure compliance with all company operational policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- No prior barista or coffee shop experience required – full training provided!
- Strong passion for coffee and customer service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Positive attitude and a strong desire to learn.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Flexibility to work daytime shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., retail, hospitality) is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of basic food safety practices.
