Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stratigraphy Analyst to join our dynamic team with a strong focus on the energy sector. This is a high-impact role demanding meticulous attention to detail, advanced analytical capabilities, and a deep understanding of geological principles. The successful candidate will be instrumental in interpreting subsurface data to identify new exploration opportunities and optimize existing production strategies, directly contributing to Chevron’s strategic energy initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret geological and geophysical data, including well logs, seismic surveys, and core samples, to develop detailed stratigraphic frameworks.
- Construct and refine sequence stratigraphic models to understand depositional environments and predict reservoir quality and distribution.
- Integrate various datasets to create comprehensive subsurface interpretations and generate high-resolution geological maps.
- Provide expert stratigraphic input to support prospect generation, field development planning, and reservoir characterization studies.
- Collaborate closely with geophysicists, petrophysicists, and reservoir engineers to ensure integrated subsurface understanding.
- Present technical findings and recommendations to multidisciplinary teams and management.
- Stay abreast of industry advancements in stratigraphy and geological modeling techniques.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in stratigraphic analysis within the oil and gas or energy industry.
- Proficiency in geological software platforms (e.g., Petrel, Techlog, Kingdom).
- Strong understanding of sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, and basin analysis.
- Experience with well log correlation and seismic interpretation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a relevant geological discipline.
- Experience with unconventional resource plays.
- Familiarity with geological modeling and simulation software.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects or significant components of projects.
