Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented QC Chemist to join our analytical team in Atlanta. This is an immediate opening for a professional who is passionate about ensuring the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and cGMP guidelines. This role is critical to maintaining our high standards of product integrity and directly contributes to our mission of making the world healthier.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process, and finished pharmaceutical products.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation including HPLC, GC, UV/Vis, FTIR, Karl Fischer, and dissolution apparatus.
- Accurately record and document all experimental data and results in laboratory notebooks and LIMS systems.
- Review and interpret analytical data, ensuring compliance with specifications and cGMP regulations.
- Assist in the investigation of out-of-specification (OOS) and out-of-trend (OOT) results, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods as needed.
- Participate in laboratory audits and ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality systems.
- Collaborate effectively with production, R&D, and regulatory teams to ensure product quality and timely release.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Quality Control laboratory, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting HPLC, GC, and other common analytical techniques.
- Strong understanding of cGMP, FDA, and ICH guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Chemistry or related field.
- Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Prior experience with method development and validation.
- Knowledge of statistical process control and quality assurance principles.
