Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and reliable Private Lab Specimen Porter to join our busy team at our High Street location in Coventry. This is a crucial role responsible for the safe, timely, and secure transport of sensitive laboratory specimens within our facility and to designated external labs. You will play a vital part in the diagnostic process, ensuring samples are handled with the utmost care and in strict adherence to all health and safety protocols. This role offers weekly pay and an opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced and essential healthcare service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and securely transport laboratory specimens (blood, urine, swabs, etc.) between collection points, processing areas, and designated external laboratories.
  • Maintain accurate records of specimen movements, ensuring chain of custody is meticulously documented.
  • Adhere strictly to all biohazard, health and safety, and data protection (GDPR) guidelines.
  • Ensure timely delivery of specimens to prevent degradation and maintain sample integrity.
  • Assist with the preparation and packaging of specimens for dispatch.
  • Communicate effectively with lab staff, clinic personnel, and external couriers.
  • Maintain a clean and organised working environment, including transport equipment.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or non-conformities immediately.
