Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Podiatrist to join our dynamic and supportive Podiatry team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive podiatric care to a diverse patient caseload, diagnosing and treating a wide range of foot and lower limb conditions. This role involves working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering evidence-based interventions to improve patient mobility, reduce pain, and enhance overall quality of life. You will play a crucial role in patient education and the promotion of foot health within the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments, diagnose foot and lower limb pathologies, and formulate individualised treatment plans.
  • Deliver a broad range of podiatric treatments including routine foot care, wound care, nail surgery, biomechanical assessments, and orthotic provision.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of patients, including those with complex medical conditions such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and peripheral vascular disease.
  • Provide expert advice and education to patients, their families, and carers on foot health, footwear, and preventative care.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date patient records in accordance with professional and Trust guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Participate in clinical governance activities, including audit, service evaluation, and continuous professional development.
  • Adhere to all Trust policies, procedures, and professional standards, including those set by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Required Skills

  • BSc (Hons) in Podiatry or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering a broad range of podiatric treatments in a clinical setting.
  • Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a demanding caseload effectively.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Local anaesthetic certificate.
  • Experience working within an NHS environment.
  • Post-registration experience in specialist areas such as diabetes foot care, wound management, or biomechanics.
  • Evidence of participation in audit or service improvement projects.
