Job Description
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Pharmacy Records Clerk to join our remote team. This is a 100% remote position where you will be responsible for maintaining precise and up-to-date pharmacy records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and internal protocols. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional data entry skills, a strong commitment to accuracy, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced virtual environment. You will play a crucial role in supporting our pharmacy operations by accurately processing, filing, and managing sensitive patient and medication information.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately input and update patient and prescription data into pharmacy management systems.
- Organize, file, and retrieve physical and electronic pharmacy records, ensuring easy accessibility.
- Verify the accuracy of prescription information, patient demographics, and insurance details.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with auditing records for compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to resolve data discrepancies.
- Prepare and process various reports related to pharmacy records as needed.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence related to patient records.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor data entry issues and report complex problems to supervisors.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in data entry, clerical work, or a related administrative role.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology or willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, medical office, or healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software (e.g., RxConnect, Pioneer Rx).
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or enrollment in a pharmacy technician program.
