Job Description
As a Maintenance Porter with Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Bath, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the pristine condition and operational efficiency of our esteemed hotel. This position is ideal for individuals with basic handyman skills who are proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment for our guests and team members. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, from routine maintenance checks and minor repairs to assisting with property upkeep and ensuring all facilities meet our high standards. Tools and equipment necessary for daily tasks will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on hotel facilities and equipment.
- Execute minor repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms and event spaces.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of public areas, guest rooms, and back-of-house facilities.
- Support the senior maintenance team with larger projects as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven basic handyman skills across various trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, general repairs).
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license (preferred, but not strictly required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel, facilities management, or residential setting.
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems.
- Certification in a relevant trade (e.g., basic electrical safety).
- First Aid certification.
