Job Description
Join the United Parcel Service (UPS) team in Austin as a Warehouse Sorter! This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in logistics with no prior experience. As a Warehouse Sorter, you will be a vital part of our operations, responsible for accurately sorting packages, freight, and cargo to ensure they reach their correct destinations. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately sort packages, freight, and cargo according to designated routes and destinations.
- Load and unload packages from trailers, trucks, and conveyor belts.
- Scan packages and update tracking information using handheld devices.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support overall operations.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily sorting goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 70 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodation).
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, stoop, bend, and twist.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic literacy skills (ability to read labels and numbers).
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical environment.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or physically demanding role (though not required, it is a plus).
