Job Description

Home Instead in Durham, North Carolina, is seeking dedicated Personal Support Workers to provide personalized care in private households. This vital role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide medication reminders and assist with basic health monitoring.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and tidying living areas.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and exercises as directed by care plans.
- Run errands, such as grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the Home Instead team regarding client status and needs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for clients.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Personal Support Worker, Caregiver, or similar role.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow care plans accurately and independently.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and daily tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working with individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's.
- A passion for serving the elderly community.
