Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Patient Guides & Porters to join our team at High Street Health Centers in Newcastle upon Tyne. This vital role ensures the smooth flow of patients and materials, contributing significantly to a positive patient experience and efficient service delivery. You will be the friendly face that guides patients through our facilities and the dependable hands that transport essential items, playing a crucial part in the day-to-day operations of our health centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors, providing clear directions and escorting them to various departments, clinics, or wards as required.
- Transport patients safely and comfortably via wheelchairs, trolleys, or beds between different areas of the health center.
- Assist patients with mobility challenges, ensuring their safety and comfort during transit.
- Move equipment, specimens, medical records, mail, and supplies between departments efficiently and securely.
- Maintain cleanliness and good working order of transport equipment, reporting any faults promptly.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, visitors, and staff members.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Provide general assistance and support to clinical and administrative staff as needed.
- Respond promptly to requests via radio or pager system.
