Job Description

Join Mitie Group Plc as a Gutter Cleaning Assistant and become a vital part of our dedicated property maintenance team in Clifton, York. This role involves working at heights to ensure the effective cleaning and maintenance of gutters on various commercial and residential properties. Full safety gear, comprehensive training, and continuous support will be provided to ensure your safety and success. We are looking for individuals who are comfortable with heights, possess a strong work ethic, and are committed to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely access and work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs) as required, strictly adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
  • Efficiently clear gutters of debris, leaves, moss, and other obstructions to ensure proper water flow.
  • Inspect gutters and downpipes for damage or blockages, reporting any issues to the team leader.
  • Clean up work areas thoroughly after job completion, ensuring no debris is left behind.
  • Maintain and care for company equipment, ensuring it is clean, functional, and stored properly.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to complete tasks effectively and on schedule.
  • Represent Mitie Group Plc professionally while interacting with clients and the public.

Required Skills

  • Comfortable working at heights for extended periods.
  • Strong understanding and commitment to health and safety procedures.
  • Physically fit and able to lift and carry equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Valid UK driving license preferred, but not essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar outdoor or maintenance role.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Working at Heights, IPAF, PASMA) – training can be provided.
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance or property services.
