Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our dedicated property maintenance team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing high-quality painting and decorating work across a variety of commercial and residential sites. You will ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standards, on time, and in line with health and safety regulations, contributing to the professional presentation and longevity of our clients’ properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting and decorating by cleaning, sanding, filling, and repairing defects.
  • Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes to various surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Ensure a high-quality finish, paying close attention to detail and achieving customer satisfaction.
  • Safely erect and dismantle access equipment, such as scaffolding and ladders, following health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and ensure proper storage.
  • Work collaboratively with other tradespeople and team members to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Provide accurate records of work completed and materials used.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Painter and Decorator in a professional setting.
  • Proficiency in various painting techniques, including brush, roller, and spray application.
  • Excellent knowledge of different types of paints, varnishes, and wallpapers.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A valid UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 in Painting and Decorating or equivalent qualification.
  • CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • Experience working within a facilities management or commercial property environment.
