Job Description
Join FedEx Express as an Overnight Freight Sorter and play a critical role in our logistics operation. This is a full-time position with a set schedule from 10 PM to 6 AM, offering premium pay for your dedication to our overnight operations. You will be responsible for efficiently sorting and moving packages, ensuring they are dispatched accurately and on time to their next destination. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort packages and freight according to destination, size, and type.
- Load and unload freight from trucks and containers, both manually and using equipment.
- Scan packages and update tracking information accurately.
- Identify and report any damaged packages or unusual conditions.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently (training provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation flow.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physical environment.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures.
- Ability to work overnight shifts (10 PM – 6 AM).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physical role.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
