Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Non-Sterile Compounding Technician with a strong focus on custom medication preparation to join our Calgary team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately preparing a wide range of non-sterile compounded medications, ensuring strict adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care through personalized pharmaceutical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately weigh, measure, and mix pharmaceutical ingredients to prepare non-sterile compounded medications as per prescriptions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Operate and maintain compounding equipment, ensuring proper calibration and cleanliness.
- Perform quality control checks on raw materials and finished products.
- Maintain meticulous records of compounding formulas, ingredients, batch numbers, and expiry dates.
- Adhere strictly to all provincial and federal regulations, as well as company policies regarding compounding practices, safety, and hygiene.
- Manage inventory of compounding ingredients and supplies, including ordering and proper storage.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and other pharmacy staff to ensure timely and accurate medication preparation and delivery.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with compounding best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience (1+ year) in non-sterile pharmaceutical compounding, preferably with a focus on custom medication.
- Knowledge of relevant compounding guidelines and regulations (e.g., NAPRA standards in Canada).
- Familiarity with various compounding software systems.
